All About Beagles

by

Today I’m going to talk about beagles. I think beagles are the cutest dogs you’ll ever meet. They’re also the loudest! I should know, I have one at home. I’m going to tell you about the beagle personality, how to take care of them, the history of beagles, and facts about the beagle.

Personality of a Beagle

When you look at a beagle their adorable but don’t let that fool you, when you eat they use their cute looks to beg for food. That’s how most beagles get chubby and trust me that can happen pretty fast. Beagles also love to snuggle in your legs and they’ll want to go in and out of your covers at night. They crave attention, so if you ignore them they’ll get very sad. Beagles also love walks and they love sniffing the ground and they’ll pull hard to get to a scent. When they see a bunny or a squirrel they have the loudest howl and they’ll pull even harder! Plus beagles are very kind and forgiving.

How to take care of a beagle

There are a few important ways to take care of your beagle. First, get a harness for your beagle when walking. A beagle pulls very hard so a collar could hurt their neck. You should walk you beagle at least 20 minutes per day, but ideally 30-40 minutes or more. If you don’t walk a beagle enough they can get very hyper. Your beagle will want attention so make sure to have enough time to cuddle, play, and rub your beagle. If you follow these you will have a happy beagle.

History about beagles

Beagles were and still are used as rabbit hunting dogs. When beagles hunt they go in packs and when they see a critter they’re a hoard of baying beagles. They follow their noses far away from their master, but their owner can track them because of their baying and the white at the end of their tails. When beagles are out at night they have an instinct to make a burrow which is why your beagle sleeps under your covers at night time.
